JW if you rebuild your own generators at home good for you. But most of us would be better off letting the shop rebuild it. For one thing they have the correct tools such as reamers to fit the bearings not to mention test equipment and lathes.

Rusty, exactly right. I only do work at home that can be done with common tools, and my limited knowledge. I leave it to the shops and their experts if a job requires special equipment or expertise. That's why I said I would have the shop fit a new CE bushing because of the reaming needed to fit it.
