I don't think that is your problem. Mine has that shape too. Did you put your spring back on the right way? My pic shows it if you hold it so you can read the front and then rotate it 180 degrees on it's vertical axis (left to right). I'm also including some pics of my internals. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on how the mechanism works.

Yes, spring is correct.

Could someone take a pic with the green piece removed?

I want to make sure that I'm not missing a tab or something off the cam that is behind it.

Ok, I have answered my own original question.
I noticed the fast idle arm had a patent # on it and I looked it up. Here is the link:

United States Patent # 2402361
