Just a brief comment:

I was watching an old movie from the forties on TV and the characters were driving away in a brand new Plymouth or something.

Anyway, it was a rainy scene and when they stepped on the gas the wipers stopped.

Vacuum wipers suck (pun intended). Buy electric wipers and solve the problem once and for all.

Thanks everybody for the input. I decided to take the safest route and go electric. I just received my electric wiper motor in the mail and will install it soon. It cost about the same as rebuilding the vacuum motor. I'll put the original vacuum motor on the shelf. Thanks again. Brian
