1955 Windshield surround reinstall

Hi All,

Well, we are almost done with the restoration (I'm sure I said that a few weeks ago) We are up to the stage of putting the windscreen chrome surround back on. From doing a bit a reading this is a painful job and requires allot of soap. I was wondering if anyone has any tips/hints on reinstalling this part?

Also attached are a few recent photos of the car (sorry not the best quality)
