Last Packard in official government service?

EDITED

From today's New York Times.

I think it's safe to say that New York State is the only state in the U.S. that still has a Packard in the official state motor vehicle pool. Perhaps the only governmental entity in the world that still has a Packard in the stable for official governmental duties?

It's most often associated with FDR when he was Governor of New York and has been in the state garage in Albany all these years, and it has been used quite sparingly for official duties until recently when the state had Wayne Carini's shop install new tires and give it a general tune-up and freshening.

Just delightful...The old girl has so much more style than a modern machine...However, not as bullet proof as a new machine. Ernie in Arizona
