Did you try Tucson Packards? Mike has several 1937 parts cars.

Thanks Don but it's too small. The 2 air cleaners look very different but I believe the first set of pictures are correct. Still looking for one if someone has one they can part with.

Just can't stay away

Jacked the car up and was not happy with the clearance on ramps so I built a 4” platform for the ramps. (wish I had a garage) now plenty of crawling around room.
I removed the control valve and rack for the power steering. Also took a hard look at very sad bushings on the suspension and sway bar. Found a source for the lower A frame bushings. Not very happy with the rubber boots on the tie rod ends or for that fact any of the boots. Any suggestions on where to get those plus I need a bushing for the rod coming from the rack. Also, a huge question I have is: which type of power steering is this (know there are 2 types) and the best source of a rebuild kit? Only 1 hose has any damage, and it appears to be a unique hose. Any suggestions on a replacement? Saw what appears to be a piece of rebar on the sway bar. I assume this is not factory. Help identifying poster
|
||||

Just popping in
|
Hi,
I am asking for help identifying this poster. The best guess I could come up with so far is that it may be a 1937 car dealer poster. In some of that years print ads a similar Native American figure was used, but I could not find this poster anywhere else on line. I have tried reverse Google imaging searching already. Thanks for your help.

Re: '37 6 Crankcase Breather tube?

Can't help with measurements but looks as the tube just hugs the space between block and bellhousing and points down with a straight end instead of a bevel like other engines had. Maybe a clamp at the top to hold end to the block outlet and a tab welded on at the lower middle to hold it to the bellhousing. End looks like maybe 2-3 inches below the bellhousing. In taxi engines believe the tube was replaced by a brass pcv valve plumbed to a vacuum port on the intake manifold below the carb.
Other manuals describe the operation as when air passes around the end of the tube the disturbance creates a suction effect which pulls gasses out of the crankcase.

Nice, but not a Super Eight. Appears to be a model 2392 Eight Touring Sedan. The 23rd series Super was seven inches longer and had the 327ci engine. Also, (just a nitpick) Packard did not two-tone the 23rd Series.
Edit: I see it was put in the registry as a 2392.

Assuming the design did not change, here are some pictures from a 1948 22nd series 356 engine (installed in a 1940 Model 1803)

For those who might think the interior is not correct, the parts book tells me that tan leatherette or tan leather was available as an option on the Eights. Very cool. I like it. But can't buy it.
