If you look at my video on youtube.comhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk_x2yp7F2k I show how I took off my Clutch Cover maybe that will help.

Thanks Dell, so far it looks like I'm missing a clip at the upper part of the window. If that is it than I'll just find a new clip and leave it as is. But if it still leaks than I'll go from there.
Thanks!

47 Windshield Removal

Well we are finally getting some rain and I noticed my Windshield on the passenger side is leaking around the top. I found the directions on Removal and Replacement of the Windshield in the Service Manual and I was wondering if before I remove the glass and add some sealer, if there might be somethings I need to watch out for and is it best to start at the Top or Bottom when putting the window back in?
Thanks!

Re: 47 Clutch linkage with Electromatic Clutch

Thanks Howard, from looking at the parts book I could see the outside washer, but not the inside one. So thanks for the heads up on that. It looks like I need to make a new bolt, mine doesn't have enough shoulder on it and I was thinking about a castle nut with a cotter key, but the double nut would be easier.
As always thanks for the help.

Hi, I'm looking for a good pictorial of the Clutch Linkage for a 47 with the Electromatic Clutch hook up. I saw the one in the parts book, but I could use a good break down of the parts. Mine is in bad shape see picture below.
Thanks!
Wes

Thanks Howard, that's what I was looking for. I knew if anybody would know, it would be you. Packard has an excellent troubleshooting for the R9 but with the R11 I guess I can get all my information from the B-W manual and I'll checkout the Service Counselor Vol 23 #2.
Thanks again!

47 Overdrive
Home away from home
Home away from home

Wesley Boyer
Well here I go again. I decided to finally connect up the overdrive since my black 47 Packard tops out at about 45MPH. Read up on all the manuals for the R9 overdrive located the safety switches and installed the black relay box. So I figured a good starting point would be to touch a 6 volt wire to pin 4 on the solenoid and hear the chatter of the solenoid, but guess what, I find a R11 instead of the R9 overdrive. So now I need to find a good wiring diagram, I looked at the 49 schematics, but I need a little bit more detail. I'm assuming that I'm better off with the R11, so any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I hope Wazza doesn't mine me using his thread, but I have a cable I'm trying to identify.
So here it is, it looks like Packard Part Number 378144. The cable multiple wires of different lengths. Its about 7 ft. long and has one wire with a fuse cap end. The closest I could find was in the 1947 Parts book was Part Number 378147 2000-001-03-06-10-11 for 4.057651 Wiring Harness -Rear, but that's not it.
Thanks for any help.
Wes
