I have a spare set of Perrot shaft assemblies (Right and Left) for sale. These are the critical parts that wear or break due to poor Bijur lubrication. Included are all parts from the frame to the backing plate. $400 plus shipping. I also have some spare Perrot shafts in good condition. Contact me at hiway9999@hotmail.com, if interested.

Burr-Ripley makes such a cannister. Don't know what years they provide them for.

That's an interesting possibility as the car was completely disassembled when I got it. I see in previous posts that "29wrench" and "1928CnvCp" had the same problem, but no solution was mentioned. I would be interested if either of them found out what the problem was.

The confusing thing is that both the right and left cams have the same number cast into them. In going thru my spare parts, I found some cams that have the same number cast into them, but also have R and L cast into them. The number does not correspond to the numbers in the parts book.

I think I have found the problem. The brake cam housings that mount on the backing plates are obviously left and right sided. What is not so obvious is that the cams themselves are also right and left sided. The cylindrical slot in the inboard side of the cams is at roughly a 90 degree angle from the cams. They are not exactly 90 degrees different. With the cam in a perfectly vertical orientation, the cylindrical slots are not perfectly horizontal. The slots should angle slightly up from front to back. Mine were reversed, causing the rotation of the Perrot shaft on turning of the steering wheel.

Still using the vacuum tank, which works well. I have heard about the bleed passage, but have never been able to identify where it is in the carb. Are you talking about the carb pictured in the first post above or the later carb?

I believe that Dupont has gone out of the paint business.
