If you're interested, I purchased a new sending unit on E-bay for $28, 4 mos. back It was listed as 57-60 Lincoln & it works fine. You might want to just check the float position & bend if needed. It was item #400439581433 at the time.

Do you by any chance have the brand & part numbers of the clutch, press. plate, & u-joints. It would be handy to have.

If anyone is interested, Youngstown Ohio craigslist has a 55 Pat for sale for $1500. I don't know how to put in a link.

Why not buy the Standard brand switch # US14, It will mount up easy & it's a good alternative till you get a permanent solution. Just put in Standard US14 in the search box & get a picture of it if you want.

If it helps, you can use Standard brand switch #US14.I used that till I got a Packard one. Packard switches are like older Fords of similar vintage.

T/L question

The right side link, going from T/L motor to the torsion bar should be straight, right? Mine is not, which may account why the right side of the car is lower than the left. Is it easy enough to remove? It would be part #445914.

While on the subject of A/C, I'll show you mine. No compressor or hoses to worry about. Even no evaporator. But it sure blows a lot of "air".
