Thanks to OwenDyneto (Dave) for offering to help out as the Forum Ambassador for the Pre-War Forum.

As the Pre-War covers the most number of series/years and the vehicle changes over that span are dramatic we, as always, could always use as many people as possible to help out.

So there is nothing wrong with have several Ambassadors like we do with the 55/56 Forum.

Thanks again Dave!

My wifey was feeling generous yesterday, and she bought me four Gladiator Wall Cabinets to help control the mess that is occurring in the garage. As I have been buying more and more tools and supplies to work on the car, I have been quickly running out of places to put them. Couple that with all of the parts removed from the car, and my two car garage is starting to look like something out of Sanford and Son.

These will help to get stuff up off the ground, and more importantly off my workbench. Now all I need is a couple of tall cabinets and I will be all set. I am hoping to finally get back to finishing off the garage remodel. All I need to do is go buy about 20 sheets of plywood for the unfinished walls. Buying is no problem, finding someone with a truck to pick them up for me has been a challenge.

Well while not exactly related to working on my Packard, it will help in the long run. I think the reason my Packard project has moved along so slow, is that I have been sharing the money and time between actual work on the car, and getting the garage, tools, and supplies bought and sorted out so can work more effectively on the car.

I want to make some real progress on the garage and the car this winter while it's cool. As summer really limits the amount of time I can spend in the garage with the heat. Perhaps I will just break down and buy a big A/C unit for the garage before next summer. I know that would really help out.

Dave, first of all Welcome to the Website. Please let us know about what Packard vehicles you own.

As to your question,

The Forum Ambassadors are folks that help out with a specific forum with things like:

-Welcoming new folks
-Encouraging folks to add their cars to the Registry
-Answering questions when possible, or helping in the tracking down of information.

..and various things of that nature.

My personal knowledge is limited to the 51-54 models. While I would say that I am not close to being an expert, I can hold my own and help other folks with their 51-54s. We just need more folks to be able to help people with the other Series/Years.

The 55-56 is probably the best represented forum. As we have several experts that know every bolt in them.

I would think that number would be far higher than 6 or 7. There are 7 registered on here. If you were to ask the PAC or PI roster keepers, I am sure you will find that number in the 100's.

Somewhere at home I have the 2007 PI members directory which lists who owns what car (of it's membership). If I can find it I will try to get you a rough count on what PI is reporting.

If you guys can come up with a few different offical chat times then I will post them on the home page so everyone knows when to expect people to be on.

Perhaps an evening chat like 7pm PST - 10pm EST
A Moring Chat 8:30am PST - 11:30am EST
and some time of middle ground time on the weekends like
1pm PST and 4pm EST

And if we need to come up with a time for our Aussie folks we can do that to. I think once you all agree on some place holders and we get those posted, then people will know when other people might be on.

All times are suggestions, please discuss.

John,

Did you manage to get those pictures from Warren onto a CD/DVD?

If you did I would like to see them. Hopefully you were able to get some better shots than I did. I can also batch upload those pics to the website for you if you like.

Randy, I believe you are correct about the floor pans.

They did arrive here at my office today. They are labeled 51-56 Packard (Made in U.S.A.).

While I have not yet held them up to my existing floor pans, they are different. I think it's a generic design the will fit any of the 51-56 Packards/Clippers, but they are not a reproduction of the factory stampings. They are a simplier design. Maybe this was done to make them more generic across any differences in the 51-56 Series/Models.

They may take a little working to get them to fit, but I think the overall bends and shape is about right.

I wont be able to tell until I try to lay them onto the exisitng pans.

Worst come to worst, they will make a good basis for patch panels.
