I have seen what I believed were original 288's in both gray and Packard green. I have had good experience with the Hirsch paint.
There are 3 front bumper styles on 22nd series Juniors, as I recall. A "closed mouth" where the middle wider filler piece extends to the center, an "open mouth" where the filler piece is shorter, leaving an opening. The center portion was sometimes painted body color, sometimes chromed. I'm referring to the horizontal part of the bumper, made up of upper and lower bars sandwhiching the filler pieces. Look at some photos and you can see the differences

depends if you want correct pattern and appearance or some black vinyl porch matting. Two approaches, two results, choose which you prefer.

it's a high production model for a Packard - I'd try a little searching

The CSA did not initially need to invade the North to achieve its goal. The North did need to invade the South if its goal was to keep the area under its control instead of letting it go.
The later Southern invasions that ended at Antiedam (Sharpsburg) and Gettysburg were efforts to bring about a negotiated peace to capitalize on Northern war weariness. The North's much greater population and industrial capability meant it would win a war of attrition eventually. But if J.E. B. Stuart's troopers had been mounted in Packards, things might have been different (feeble attempt to bring this back)

The Eight Deluxe uses a striped wool. The Eight uses a houndstooth pattern. The door panels use plain cloth for both, with a vinyl lower band (I can probably dig up a modern equivalent for the vinyl). The Eight Deluxe has stainless on the inside door garnish moldings.
The accessory bumper guards were available for all models, and for front and rear. They are easily confused with the more common Chrysler ones of the same era. They clamp over the standard small guards.

I think it's an Eight Deluxe. Stainless trim over the side windows but base hood ornament.

For Packard at least, 53-4 and 55 are quite different. Both have their fans, so you might want to see which turns your crank more.

Fair point on power to weight, also better handling. This is an advantage of the earlier 356 cars when the swb body styles are chosen.

Making the Lancia grill narrower at the bottom makes it resemble a cow catcher on an old American train. Some marvelous automotive history in Lancia, but still a weak marque image today.
