Kev.. looks like there might be a problem with new adds. See Owner registry.

I dunno. I think Kev's chart would be a hit in Israel where folks read right to left. Anyway... congratulations on spectacular growth.

I won't swear to it but I understand the original finish in the trunk consisted of a flocking material that was sprayed over the tar-like coating. I don't believe it held up very well since I've never seen an example of an original trunk in good condition. There was (I think) a hogshair type of mat that then went down on the floor of the trunk. My '50 came with the mat that I think is original. I'm not planning on re-flocking my trunk so I haven't looked around for replacement sources.

Welcome! And enjoy your Packard.

I see the subject Packard is now on e-Bay. Based on the additional pictures there, I'd say no.

Switching to an alternator wouldn't be something I'd be interested in... but there's one on e-bay right now; 6 volt/positive ground 5/8" pulley with a starting bid of 24.99 USD. Item 150216913509
Just in case anybody else might be looking for one.
Oops.. just realized this is on the V8 forum ... never mind.

Thanks. Yes, it's a cropped shot of the '41 Limo's front end. I Photoshopped out the background and replaced it with black. I need to re-do it though 'cause I accidentally nipped the glass wing with the cursor which makes it look like it's chipped.

Dan, does your LWB '48 have electro-hydraulic windows? If so, maybe 'PSE' could be a power front seat? Grasping at straws here.

Yes, it's a 2352-5. The Briggs body number is a match within 20 of the build sheet number. So I guess I have a re-numbered '49 23rd series. Fascinating stuff.

I found the build sheet for my '50 Custom shortly after I bought it. It was taped to the top of the glove box. I also keep it sealed in plastic. It reads:

2352 X 2697 WSW AT HE RADVA 501

So... body type 2352, color code X (black), 2697 = serial number?, White Side Wall tires, Automatic Transmission, Heater, Radio with Vacuum Antenna, and interior trim 501 (Tan Broadcloth). I guessing that's how it decodes. The only oddity is the serial number (if that's what it is). If I take the cars actual serial number from the data plate and subtract 2000, the resulting number is not what is shown on the build sheet. The number is off by a couple hundred. This makes me wonder if my '50 is a leftover '49 or if this number is supposed to correlate at all? Everything else matches. Now to inspect the fill tube on the '41 (the glove box is long gone).
