Tried dragging the brakes until they smoke has improved the screeching of the front brakes and now it only happens at the last few feet before stopping....have driven about 100 miles so far (not all with the brakes on)...with the exception of when you make a hard right or left turn and the screeching comes back big time... she sounds like a tiger tank, after a couple of blocks they are quiet again...any more suggestions?

HH Adjusted the cables and the wipers work great, they park go fast and slow. Will install the compensator later but we know that the motor works. To answer your question about the cable twist, since the wipers only worked when they wanted to I never discovered that I had a problem until the wiper motor was repaired. Thankfully that's the end of this topic. Now my horn stopped working, must have pulled a wire, with a five thousand pound projectile it is a good thing to have.

Please don't give me credit for everything, just wanted all to see what she looked like way back when.

HH Did I correctly describe the cable wrap? My hands are almost healed from the speedo, she does like to scratch.

HH Thanks for the directions. Remove the glove box (just reinstalled it nicely), lock the tensioners on both sides, with the tension off the cables, correctly attach the cables as shown. It looks like they wrap half way around the spindle. From the firewall forward: right back cable bottom, left back bottom, left front top and right front cable top. (am sure to find out tomorrow)

HH Now that I remember while standing on my head under the dash, the cables seemed odd with one crossing over the other. Have plate 43 but don't have the instrument section 4-5. # 43 shows it clear. How do the ends clip on the shaft from the motor?...please say something easy.
