I need a picture of a Packard Clipper showing rear fender louvers
Home away from home
Home away from home

Steve
I need a picture of the location of the rear fender louvers on a 1953 (2662) Packard Clipper 4door. I've been to the Google Images and googled 1953 Clipper's, I've looked at maybe 750 to 1000 images of Packard's, I found 5 pix's with louvers but no 26th series. However, non of the pix's I found helped me with my question:
It's not about how many Louvers to use, (I'm using three), it's whether the louvers go above or below the SS belt line of my 26th series. And, if I use three louvers do they all go right above the wheel well and none on the rear door.
Thank you for providing my 12th louver, I can do both the 24th and the 26th now.
Help!!

Hi Dave,
I have a '51 200 though with the auto trans. I needed to replace the rear U joint and was able to go to Kanter, talk to Stewart Blond and get all the info I needed plus the correct U joint. Tuscon Packard works too, but we were mailing 3 incorrect u joints back and forth until we finally got the correct one. Hope this help you. Regards.

Re: Template for installing rear side fender louvers

Home away from home

Steve
Hello again Packard aficionados, rather than start a new string I'm reviving an older string in the hopes that my new
questions will have the benefit of the previous questions and answers. So, I am now the new owner of 11 SS rear fender louvers (3 per side 2 cars),for my series 24 and 26 Packard's. I am looking to buy one more SS fender louver mildly elongated with the more pointed end, please check your parts cars and boxes in the garage, under the bed etc.

Question one: Does anyone know what the status of the template is for the installation of the rear louvers?

Question two: From what I can ascertain from pictures, it appears that where the louvers are installed on 4 door models there is access to the other side of the fender in order to attach the keepers on the louver studs. Is this correct? Or, are there blind installation spots? (ok, 3 questions).

Re: Treating Surface Rust

Steve
I have used a product on my 24th and 26th series Packard's and my travel trailer frame. It's called "The Must for Rust" found at Lowe's, Home Depot, and most hardware stores. It comes in a spray bottle, no rinsing, just let dry. stops rust and converts it to an inactive status allowing the finished product to be painted. I'm very happy with the results. Google: The Must for Rust......for additional info. Hope this helps. Regards

Re: Type of Fuse for blower switch

Steve
I have on occasion needed to replace the fuse holder due to increased resistance in the holder which is a heat source and the holder became warped by the heat, then the interior spring loaded ends fail to move their full range and some times the correct fuse will not fit.....Just a thought.
