FYI.....I was checking around on Craig's List to see if there was anything I didn't know that I needed.....I found these two Packard's... The $500.00 '52 says "it has factory air".

As I remember, the 40 Packard was the first with factory air. The second 51 looks nice though.

I think that may be another of those dealer installed "factory air" units. The car does not have the scoops the real factory air should have had and don't believe factory AC was available again postwar until 53. That link I posted yesterday to the Popular Science article on aftermarket AC installations said the ARA unit could be dealer installed in 51-56 units. Others brands were aftermarket dealer installations.
