I'll try Radio Shack. Thanks for the tip.

I would like just to have my GPS work in my 12 Volt 1956 Packard. I tried it in several V-8s at the national meet and the lighter base must be configured differently than more modern cars as no power would go to the unit. All of the cars I tried my GPS in had functional lighters.

I suspect the bidder on the car also took note of the compass. Attached is a photo of a NOS compass.

Take a look on eBay at a Custom-8 that is for sale. This is an original car that has sat unmolested for a long time. An interior shot shows the rare genuine Packard compass mounted on the windshield divider. A person might buy the car just to get the compass and then sell the car again.

Garages are absolutely about Packards, almost all of us want a great space for our cars.

It was the belt line moulding on the rear 1/4 panel on a Caribbean. It is about 14 inches long and goes from the door opening to the chrome strip that has the top fasteners. It is Caribbean conv. only. Another pic from the meet.

Joe, it was good seeing you at the meet. Here is a photo of some of the Packard powered Golden Hawks in the parking lot.

Brian, there were about a 100+ Packards at the meet. At the joint judging site, I suspect there were 700 or more Studebakers. All in all there were Studes and Packards everywhere you looked all week. I got a new original headliner still in the box for my 400 and a rare moulding for my Caribbean that I had been looking for the last 10 years plus.

I got back from South Bend yesterday from a great meeting of Packards. The car ran great other than the speedometer self destructing. I am going to try and attach a photo from South Bend.
