Windshield scratches
#71
Home away from home

WILLIS BIRKS
I have noticed some scratches on the windshield of my 54 Clipper. Some are the standard windshield wiper kind, but above them are several light scratches. Is it possible to remove or reduce the scratches with a rubbing compoud?

Now that my brain has re-booted, that is the only way they could be unless one Clipper read backwards. Sorry for posting this before it was thought through.

54 Clipper side script

At a car show today I was looking at the Clipper and discovered that the Clipper script that is located on each side face different ways. The question is which way is correct? The previous owner must have purchased two of the same Clipper scripts and put them on.
One has the script with the C starting towards the front of the car and the r finishing towards the rear of the car. The other one has the C starting on the rear of the car and the r finishing toward the front of the car. Which one is correct?
I will then need to find me the correct script.

Car shows take a lot of time and dedication for everyone involved. To complain about the goody bag, parking, judges, and winners takes away a lot from the people working the show and makes some quit volunteering. Unless you are at Pebble
Beach, have fun, enjoy the people and cars.

I enjoy this website very much and am on it everyday 2 or 3 times. The resources our fantastic. Thanks to Not so Big Kev and everyone who participates on the site.

I am really enjoying driving my 54 Clipper that I thought would take me years to get to this level and reliability. I think the time was shortened by at least two years because of the knowledge and support from this web site!

Kev, Thanks for the best site to gather information that helps the new Packard owner to accomplish what would have been impossible to do on their own. My 54 CLipper is daily driver due to the help with parts and technical knowledge unavailable anywhere else. Keep up the good work and I will increase my donation this year to help make sure this site continues.

I agree, do some samples before you select the sizes. I ended up using #8 stainless screws from Lowes in 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch sizes. The oval head screws seemed to work well for me. I am anxious to see how your headliner goes in before I attempt to do mine.

My wife and I, first time we tried to do this. It took some time, but from blogs on this site and YouTube we did it. Now trying to figure out if we should try the headliner. May wait for'Not So Big Kev' to do his and learn how.
