Re: 41 Running Boards

Didn't one of the old movie stars have his running boards taken off, to keep the girls from climbing on.
Just a thought.

47 Steering Column disassembly help needed.
Home away from home
Home away from home

Wesley Boyer
Well as always start to fix one thing and find bigger problems. I was looking at fixing the Turn Signal not canceling when turning the wheel in the opposite direction, but now I found ball bearings laying in the bottom of the unit that holds the Turn Cancel Unit. I was wondering if anyone had a better break down of the Steering Column?
Made another video of what I have found, seehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnmplfYabuM
Thanks for any and all help!

I'm attaching a bit from the bulletin so you know you have the right article. But the first thing is to pull the hubs off and look as to what is causing the problem, I would guess dirty (wet) brake shoes.

Re: 21st series hood bumpers

Howard, I always enjoy working on stuff and trying to figure out why something works like it does. So I looked at those (I'll called them Hood Pivots) Hood Pivots and notice that you are correct with putting the curve part up. I looked at a couple more different pictures of these Hood Pivots and found them with the curved part up. Which made me think why mine are curved down. Well I took one of my Hood Pivots off and the first thing I noticed was that the screw holes are recessed, so I would think it is mounted correctly with the screws fitting in the recessed holes. Then I looked closer at the Hood Pivots and notice what looks like to me that they are bent down. So I guess I need to do a little straightening on my Hood Pivots. I'm just wondering how did they get bent? When opening the hood are both the right and left latches suppose to be unlatched. Having one side latch and just opening the unlatch side, would that bend those Hood Pivots? Anyone else got any ideas what would bend these Hood Pivots?

Thanks Howard, first time using the program GIMP, it's a little difficult, but I guess not too bad for my first time. I did notice later that I put the three black spacers in the wrong position so here is the corrected version.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I would say follow what the manufacturer of the rubber gasket recommends. I would say that would be your best bet.
