You can easily test the horn button by connecting the one side to a hot lead and the other side to the horn button wire. When you press the horn button it grounds, so the test light should turn on.

That's actually scary. That axle nut should have been torqued to around 225ft/lbs.

Not sure exactly what size you need, but I know John Deere sells them for old tractors as they were used on engine head bolts to seal them.

Also, if you really can't find what you are looking for, you can buy lead roof flashing, and the use a hole punch set to make your own.

When making the second flair you just want it to fold in nicely. Don't over compress it, or that will lead to galling.

It may be crude, but I know someone who used a belt sander to level the manifolds when they couldn't access a machine shop in their general area.

They colored the surfaces with a thick Sharpie, which they used as a visual guide to know when they were getting roughly even. It proved effective for them. But the trick is to keep everything square.

Do it at your own risk!

I made a couple of minor changes to the Parts Cross-Reference. There is now a "Show All Parts" link which will show all the parts in the database sorted by A-Z by their Descriptions.

We are attempting to fix some of the descriptions and information, as some parts were added to incorrect categories. Some information just needs to be corrected and generally tidied up. Also, remove any junk entries.

If you have any new Part Cross-References from the original parts to modern OTC parts, please add them for future reference.

Thanks!

It looks really great! The strip on the door sills looks perfect. How did you end up adhering the door panels?

On my '54 wheel, I filed the cracks into a V shape with a dremel and then used a high-quality flexible body filler to fill them. Lost of sanding and shaping to get everything level and matching.

Then a couple of coats of quality automotive primer, and then single-stage urethane paint.

If your wheel is missing chunks, it may need to be sent out for recasting, or it may be cheaper to find a better wheel.

I got the windows back from the glass shop. They turned them around in less than 24 hours, so that's great. I'll see if I can get back in the car this evening and see if that resolves the fitment issue.

"Weather Permitting" has been the running theme here in the Midwest these last few months. Let's just say it hasn't been.

Never trust an overgrown rodent for weather predictions!
