i think it's "dwell affects timing but not the other way around", and i think correct timing is 6 btdc. Likely a lifter issue as others have said, needing adjustment. The packard should run smoother than your desoto.

Trying to keep up with this thread is draining. However, i'm not surprised at all the buzz this thread is generating. We have to keep things cool though, otherwise kevin will have to step in and be our regulator.

If i'm paying 58K for a postwar car, it better already have new diamondbacks on it.
Please tell me that isn't the original dash and upholstery???! It looks horrid! Like a fancy school bus! Where is the wood-grain paint!?!!
