Filler'up with Sky Chief please!

This locale in in midtown Tucson. The owner's have nicely restored the station's exterior and I thought I'd drive over in the cool of the morning and get some pictures for you all. The location is Schroeder's Auto Service on North Campbell Avenue.

Enjoy.

Go ahead Craig. Run the Patrician over to that meet. Your Packard will make it three!

64avanti, JW, 51Packard & HH56,

Thank you all for the kind words. I really do enjoy driving my Packard when possible. As I write, southern Arizona's 'enjoyment' window is quickly leaving us, as the big heat is just around the corner. And because of that heat, I tend not to drive the 400 once our temperatures hit the mid to upper nineties. Too much ethanol in the fuel composition sold here also. Yes, my 400 will hiccup (vapor lock) every so often when the triple digits arrive. I know we southern Arizonans like to call it a 'dry heat', but frankly, it is just plain hot.

Re: the a/c unit.......not enough leg room for me to install, but I do like having that 6 bladed fan cooling my radiator.

This one is from south of Tucson. A terrific looking car which I think I photographed a few months ago while attending a car show near in Tubac AZ.

Concur with Randy. If possible remove the trim. My experience too was that once you fall in love with your new paint job, you will want to professionally polish all your stainless. My opinion here, poorly polished stainless detracts from new paint jobs.

Nice car........

With cooler temperatures today in Tucson, I took the 400 out for morning cruise to Patagonia AZ. I had also hoped to locate my favorite hummingbird (violet crowned) at the Paton Preserve today, but it is still a bit too early in the season unfortunately. Violet crowned's are localized summer residents in SE Arizona.

The Packard did well as usual and I often pinch myself when driving her to make sure I'm not dreaming. She performs so well on the open road and I don't know quite how it happened, but at a couple locales today on AZ HWY 83 my speed was reading 70+.

A very nice 140 mile round trip daytime cruise.
