Billy, A new member from Sao Paulo City, Brazil entered the request below in the Chatroom earlier. He was still there when I saw it and I chatted to him about posting in the Forum but so far he hasn't done so. I'll PM and tell him what I've done. In the meantime if anyone can help he'd be appreciative, as he's trying to find information for a friend of his who is interested in buying the Rollson.

I?m looking for some informations about Packard Rollson 1940; it is suposed to be a A/W, Panel Brougham, Style 1665, Body number 674. Searching internet, could not find anything about it. This car is been offered for sale down here.

Congratulations on your recent Packard purchase. Sorry, can't help with the mechanical fix but once you get it sorted out you'll have plenty of enjoyable driving with it. And could you please add your '48 to the Owner Registry together with a pic, and any known history?

Eric,

Maybe it's a clever ploy by the seller, after all he did catch your attention. And if there's someone silly enough out there.........then he laughs all the way to the bank.
Quite possibly just a keyboard slip? After all, your link says 500 while the car in eBay is identified as a 400! Then again he does have a 1950 OLDS 98 FUTURAMIC 4 DR for $89K But It Now! Nicer car than the 400 but not worth $89K either. And in his "About me" link on eBay there a pic of a different and much better Packard but still not $79K's worth.

Kev,

Think you're right, but then again there is no interior pic.

Dave,

- Open the thread you want to copy the link of
- Left lick your cursor in the web address, eg: http.//packardino.....etc
- That will highlight the Web address
- Right click your cursor while holding it over the highlighted address and select "Copy" and Right click to copy it
- In the thread you wish to include the web adddress in then left click where you wish to insert it and right click on "Paste"
- VOILA! Link inserted.

Probably somewhat long-winded and maybe terminology is not 100% correct but I hope you can follow it.

But what is it, this Russian kg/cm? and how to explain to Mal who perhaps asked for psi = pounds per square inch, while I prefer to measure it as at?=atmosphere. And I am distantly aware of the possibility that perhaps Owen is waiting at the next corner to welcome me with "call them what you will according to the customs of your area; where and when I grew up, we always called it pish-posh and all what you need to measure it is an attentive view and a bit of spit..." .........

Gerd,

I grew up at a time when tyre pressures were measured in psi here and that's the one I still use even though Oz converted to Metrics over 30 years ago.
So your 2.5 & 3.5 convert to 35 & 50 psi approximately. to your handy plug in table!
The era of "attentive view and a bit of spit..." I did use at one stage in my boyhood for inflation of bicycle tyres too.
From the close up pic's of the wheels and tyres it's obvious to see the heavy duty componentry used.
