I've never been able to find new VRs with four terminals. Does your Brillman have four terminals to match the original Auto-Lite VRP?

I'm currently using an Auto-Lite VRP-4008A, although I think the original may have been 4003A (??). The 4003A is 35 amps, while the 4008A is 40 amps. With air-conditioning on my car, I prefer to use the 40-amp unit.

The important thing, though, is that you have the four terminals. A friend told me he had a whole shelf of these 4008s. I'll reach out to him and see if I can get you one.

In regard to using TWO optima batteries...
I just for the first time bought two optima batteries, ONE for the Speedster and ONE for the '40. They work great so far. You really don't need two batteries. One is sufficient, and less of a headache.

I reuse the cover of my oldest voltage regulator, but the main body is the Brillman I bought last November, so I'm hoping it has a year warranty.

Here are pictures of the cover, the VR and a generator brush lit from the opening in the top through the opening on the end with the band off using iPhone.

Thanks, West. I'd really appreciate having a correct spare.
Brillman hasn't responded yet, but I'll call them now. Been busy all morning.

O good. Glad I kept that cover.

I still think you should use the four-terminal regulator.

Yes, I'm all for that. Let me know if one is available. I'll switch it out.
Reliability is very important now that I gave my SUV to my daughter and have delayed buying a sports car.

Are you considering going/entering the AACA Fall Nationals in Gettysburg on November 7th?

I haven't looked at it yet. House is being painted, driveway redone, kitchen floors and counters soon. A lot going on. But I will look. Thanks. I've only gone to cars and coffee in Potomac a couple of times.
