Thanks JW - looks like you are set up with original coin end version.

Howard, when I lined up the '48 bar and brackets more carefully, the bar comes just about center with the top edge of the radiator bracket. Won't go over, won't go under. Also would interfere with the radiator mounting hole.

I guess we are at the end of this experiment. Perhaps Owen or Dallas can shed some light on this.

My Packard is a 1946 Clipper Deluxe. The stabilizer bar that I used to replace the original was from a 1949. They looked the same except for the link ends. As I remember all I did was jack up the front end remove and replace bar using the 1949 hardware.

I believe the radiator cradle mount arrangement is either different on the senior cars because those cars are longer or have bigger radiator. The attached photos show my bar installed behind the cradle and above the mount.
