Wow I didn't think anyone followed over to be honest. I'm enjoying the mopar. Packard will be back after this is done. All parts are In for the mopar..... So maybe a couple more months.

Must be an entirely different experience being able to get so many parts easily and at reasonable prices!

you would think parts would be a lot easier to get, but I've had a hard time actually.

they are easier from places like jegs or summit, but with the Packard there are venders dedicated to just Packard and its a one stop shop.

while this car is a driver, it needs some long overdue tlc, so its been a challenge.

some cool pieces of Packardness. These were my Grandfather's and my mom and aunt found them yesterday while cleaning and gave them to me

3rd place 91 Minnesota meet (clock)

1st place 1989 Salado meet (pens)

and what i believe is a homemade Packard sign. the glass edge is a rough and not symmetrical cut. not sure if my Grandfather made this or bought it.

Hank

I'm only posting this to bump this blog back onto the main page as Henry has let fall to far behind.

He should be ashamed of himself.

yes I should. but to tell you the truth i'm still going on the Dart. its been one thing after the other on this thing!

most recent....igniter II unit failed and would not stay running in drive...fine in neutral though.

put back in the points....Dart ran great. so no thanks to this pertronix unit!

power steering pump alignment is the next issue. I went from a/c car to non a/c (it didn't work anyways) and all the pulleys had to be changed. thought the PS would have been fine...nope.

trust me...its been a total PITA figuring out stuff. took us over 2 weeks to figure out the dying in drive wasn't the carb or timing...it was a oh....wait...maybe its the pertronix moment.

i'll be taking a bit of a break from working on cars after I get done with the dart. I missed my goal of taking her to the all mopar drag race/car show this weekend anyways and I still have to take her to the muffler shop.

I need to help around the house for a bit so the wife doesn't kill me.

yeah, they moved to Rufe Snow now though. its the only muffler shop i will even remotely consider going to. they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. the welds are so smooth.
