Assuming you can hear the relay click when the horn button is pressed and the earth connection thru the freshly painted engine and bracket to the horns are good, it is possible moisture condensed inside the horns and there is now rust or oxidized contacts inside. The contacts on the relay could also have oxidized. If no relay click, perhaps the relay is bad or the connection inside the wheel made by the horn button is at fault. Another poster had the problem with rust and oxidation inside the horns so have a read thru this thread on the PAC forum and see if it is any help.http://www.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4253

Hello thanks for that. I think i am going to have to pull them apart and clean all the contacts and go from there. On a different subject, i collected all of the new glass. I managed to fit the glass into the windscreen rubbers and got the front screen fitted. It fitted in very well.

Well I have had a real good day today, I have fitted all the new runners and draft seals and fitted all the new glass in the quarter lites and the main windows. I just have the drivers door to do. but i need a new latch for the quarter lite. Does any body have a latch or complete quaterlite frame with the latch. Many Thanks Howard.

Well the carpets are now in and the new recovered door cards fitted and also the new headlining. Its also got to the point of fitting the front bench seat, I know there is a spring for the lever on the driver side of the seat, should there be another heavy spring some where else on the seat. Thanks Howard. Heres a couple of pics so far.

Car is really looking good. There is a large spring with hooks on each end. Approximately 22cm long including the hooks by 2cm wide. Wire diameter is about .130. The purpose is to help bring the seat forward and with the hooks bent the opposite directions the way they are it may be a Packard only item. Part #372410.

It attaches to the seat frame via a hole in the front to back brace at approx the arrow and to the floor via a welded on tab on the left side of the tunnel near the top. If yours is missing, the welded tab sticks out about 1 1/2cm and is located about 8 cm behind the front edge of the seat frame when the seat is all the way to the rear. With the cushion off and seat to the rear it is almost inline with the rear edge of the front frame metal.

The track springs where broken on my car seat. I went to the local auto parts store and found a heavy "Throttle" spring.

Use just need to cut to length and bend the hook in the arm.
