I finally got around to taking a buffer to the interior metal parts, Dash and window frames look a lot better than they did before and polished up nicely with the use of 2500 compound and the buffing machine. I put a coat of Mcguires NXT wax on the panels and am happy with the results. A lot easier than repainting. Ok, there are a few scratches here and there, but it can look like a used car.
Still waiting for the bodywork to be finished, hope that comes home before the end of the month.
The first two pictures are before buffing, the rest are after!

Thanks Charlie! After working for a couple of years on this project, it is nice to finally be getting clean and painted and shiney parts in the garage. The paint shop is getting a lot of other business, so it looks like the body will be back in the middle of June...Everything takes time.

Car is back from the painter, but with changing jobs and moving, it is hard to find time to put things back together. I still hope this summer will finish with a nice clipper though.
The window fuzzies that lay horizontal near the beltline of the car on the doors that I got from steele are different than the originals, they don't have as wide a section where I could use the orignal clips that held the fuzzy on. Is there a new style that works with these fuzzys? I found something similar for a VW, but it is not quite right. I could glue the fuzzys on, but clips would be better.
Does anybody know if modern clips are available? I promise new pictures in 2 weeks when I have a weekend planned to work on the clipper!

I finally have a weekend to dedicate to the packard again, so I am starting to bolt, screw and glue things back together. The painting is all done. The wheels are getting sandblasted and then will go off to the paint shop. I glued in the trunk weatherstripping, and installed the trunk lid, installed the tail lights and one of the reverse lights, cut and glued insulation for the roof and the firewall, then re-installed the old firewall padding. It is not great, but still pretty much intact. Things are staring to come together, and it is really cool to have a car that is painted! So clean and pretty!
I have been re-reading Big Kev's blog for ideas on my re-construction plan. Thanks Kev! I'm trying to work from the inside out, but it is nice to bolt on a chrome part on the outside to make things shine!

I have a question about the steele weatherstripping that goes on the A pillar. Does that get sandwiched between the A pillar and the front fender? Does the foam weatherstripping for the front door go all the way around, or is it not needed on the portion of the door that is sealed against the front fender?
Here are a few pics! Jade green is back in town!

Drove back to Munich for the weekend and got to work on the packard....Installed the rear bumper, wipers, dash, drivers door and two front fenders...front fenders are just bolted on with 3 bolts untill I can get somebody to help me with the panel gaps. Plan is to get the doors right, and then fenders and hood.
I painted the inside of the dash white as Ross suggested a while back. Makes routing the wire harness more enjoyable. I'm still looking for a new garage closer to home so I can move my project to stuttgart where I now live.
Oh, I read that the euro packard meet in 2017 will be in germany! I think I will be ready for that! I better start saving for the event. I expect the meet to cost a pretty penny.
-I just had to put the backseat in for show, and to free up some garage space.
-Any suggestions on installing the headliner before the windshield and rear glass? I guess it is easier to do a nice install on the headliner with no glass there.
Enjoy the pics!
