Probably a picture to show what alignment issue you are trying to solve would help. Lots of ways a door can be out of alignment.

1937 115-C / 120-C Ground Straps

BigKev
Both the braided ground straps are missing from my car. Currently there is a 40" thin battery cable between the battery and a bolt on where the transmission mounts to the engine.

I'd like to replace with the correct braided ground straps. But, the parts manual doesn't specify lengths.

There is one strap between the battery and the frame.

There is another strap between the "transmission case" and the frame.

Any ideas on the lengths of these? 5/16 terminals on the non battery ends?

Also any pictures of the exact mounting points would be helpful.

Thanks!

OK, no suggestions on my door alignment question from yesterday.

So, let me put this out there.
The unthreaded bolt holes of the hinges are 13/32 (.406). I am considering drilling them out to 7/16 (.437) to see if that gives me the extra movement to align the top of the passenger door.

I've cleaned out the carb starter and it seems to be working just fine now. But now I'm getting a rapid clicking sound from the starter solenoid. Full battery, starter passed the bench test and has run recently.

It's s ghost I tell ya. I solve one problem and create a next. I might put back the old starter solenoid since that doesn't seem to have been the problem.

I believe these parts are for 1940 Packard. There is a set of hood holders per a Packard tech bulletin. A cigar lighter with new element. A cloverleaf ignition key blank. Set of door lock knobs. A bunch of wiper arm pins, moulding clips and misc. Goddess of speed hood ornament wing. 1940 Packard sales film strip, very detailed. Asking $60 plus shipping.
Thanks.

The hydraulic cyls are bled and hooked up to the roof. On the weekend I should be able to try out the whole thing. However, I found one leak I need to repair. I guess this is on the pressure side of the pump. Hope I can just tighten it down. Now I need my fuel tank back from being rebopped.
Thanks for the advice on the fill process!

Yes, I was thinking on doing that, just drill another hole, but just wanted to double check if the single stud version mounted elsewhere. The Merritt description is a little misleading "Rebound Bumper Lower". it's the "lower" in the description that is a little confusing. Thanks

John, yes, it was a happy surprise when the woodgraining returned from Ron in Texas.
