Ben,

Looks like I found an answer, all 1502's are 139" wheelbase there were no 144". Only 144" wheelbase cars are the 1508 Twelves. Refer to the 1937 Factory Brochure in the Packard Literature and Manuals section -packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/1937_Factory_Brochure.pdf - there's a couple of great tables there which include wheelbases by model.

But as I said in my earlier post - all you PackardInfo guys, your answers are very welcome, and no doubt you'll keep me honest.

G'day Ben,
A formal to PackardInfo, it was good chatting with you earlier in the Chatroom and I'm pleased you were able to post your request here. Now it just remains for all the experts to jump on board and answer your query.

Hint, guys - In the Chatroom I told Ben he should get lots of advice here, so jump in to save what little reputation I have left.

Speaking of reputation, I also told Ben there's be a payback for directing him here. And it's this Ben, I greet every PackardInfo members first post with a welcome, which I've now done, and a request. And the request is this - could you please include your '37 1502 in the Owner Registry here, together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

The rear window wiper was mentioned in Post #12 on this thread -packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=2399 - See that guy was in Washington, could be the same car?

Never knew of the rear wiper option...am guessing that it must be quite rare. Worthless tidbit...reverse lights (at least the lenses) are the same for many year Checker cabs (as long as they're the ones mounted below the trunk lid, not below the taillight).

Hey Eric, I may be up near you this Sunday for the Oyster run, do you know of any other V8 Packards in the area?

The rear wiper is listed in the 51-54 Accessories list. As the 55/56s are basically the same general body shell, I don't see why the accessory wouldn't work. Now was it officially offered on the 55/56s, that I do not know.

If you search Fender Removal on the forum, there is a pretty good step by step on removing a fender on a 51-54. The 55/56 should be almost the same.

I think he is referencing replacing all the capacitors at the same time to eliminate one of those going bad on you in the near future.
