Not familiar with prewars so can't say but wouldn't be surprised if it is an assembly. Clippers and some other years had a welded or stamped one piece unit.

I'm pretty sure the bearing is leaking.

Those bearings are around. I forget the part number.

And the 0 rings you can get.

They might be on my blog.

Or kit from max. Which comes with the bearing too.

David,
Slightly but I noticed that you'd previously posted under the Forum Name of Phaeton and, when so, you'd included your '30 745 Deluxe Eight Sport Phaeton in the Registry.

I’m really at a loss. I don’t see anything or feel anything. The best I can tell is that the entire seat back and frame looks like it has to come out as an assembly.

The side panels are definitely attached to the lower frame.

And, looking at the top, I don’t see how the seat back/cushion can come up separately.

This is under the seat back cushion…

It's been a crazy busy week, so my wife and I took some time for a lunch date. First up was washing the car for the first time in 6 months. Looks much better

Beautiful and sunny, high 60's today. So windows down and cruise through town and the country

Ate at a local joint called the Red Horse Diner. A cool place that used to be an old service station, from what I understand. Has some old restored fuel pumps outside. The inside is covered top to bottom in signs, neon, and memorabilia

Birds of a feather. Another local with a hopped up SS parked next to us. Lots of people inspected the cars on their way out the front door.

There maybe little tabs or loops coming out of the bottom back of the cushion where the screws are driven through and into the wood frame.

If you can't see anything, try reaching under there and see if you can feel the fastener or tabs/loops. Usually there is on each side.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try. I figured there had to be a way to remove the seat back, but I wasn’t seeing it. I’ll try lifting!

Most seat back cushions lift up and off the back frame. There usually a couple of screws underneath that retain it to prevent it from poping off on its own. That's how both my 37 rumble seat and 54 back seat cushions come out.
