My Packard has a wool mohair interior that is an excellent condition and the car is 73 years old.
Nothing cheap about that!

I had an electric fuel pump installed as per BIGKEV. Now, the car starts much faster taking a load off my expensive starter and solonoid with the freshly machined copper guts!

For a car guy like me watching this video was akin to watching an aquarium. It was very mesmerizing.

My theory is its the herding instinct! Recently I parked my modern car far away to make sure it was not damaged because I haven't got the rub strips on it yet. So this guy parked right next to me. I could barely get my door open. It was a great big white 4-door truck! I'm thinking they are car guys like us and they want to park near another car guy. So I'm guessing we should embrace the company of people like us even when it is inconvenient.

Yes, there are two senders in their catalog for the 47. Tell them the number of holes in the mounting flange and you will get the right one.
The produced an EXACT replica of the original from the Atwater Kent catalog.. It had a lacquer coated float as per original. The lacquer dissolved very quickly in the ethanol fuel we have, so I had to pull the tank again. I did some research and found that gas tank sealer would work to coat the cork. I let them know my findings so if you order one, ask if they are using gas tank sealant now. I did not want to buy a gallon of gas tank sealer for such a small bit of use. Instead, I went to Summit Racing and bought a plastic fuel sender float. In installed it and no problems YTD! Hours of Operation Monday - Friday 9 A.M. - 5 P.M. 14 Clarendon Rd. I went to a swap meet at Ross Millers and had a chat with him about the car. His diagnosis was that the main bearings are worn. So, I will need to schedule a bottom end overhaul. He stated the engine did not have to be pulled. But, I am moving in a week and this is not the time. The engine holds 40 lbs around town, but trips are not an option right now until the work is done.

Yes, I remember the pics. Of course, you know this car has a slightly larger oil filter than the original one. So, I am sure the pan is in good shape. I did buy an original filter housing, but upon reflection, felt the upgraded filter housing was a better choice for the engines longevity.
