The bidder got the high bid , bought it for $55,000 plus a buyer's premium of 5,500. total cost $60,500. You couldn't restore one for that. But then I sold my 53 Carib in 67 for
$500................Oh, Well

I agree that it must have been a very rare option. My brother bought a 22nd series 49 super 8 with the "driftwood" grey
finished dashboard in 1955 or 1956. It was the only one I had ever seen up to that point, except I saw another in a junk yard in Illinois in 1957 or 1958. Rare indeed

I see it is a 42 or 46-47 Clipper. It has round instruments, the 41's had rectangular Instrument clusters

I always wanted a 41 Buick Roadmaster Club Coupe or Conv., but they got very expensive before I could find one, so I bought a 49 Caddy series 61 fastback instead. but I sold all my collector cars in 1986..........15 years too soon

Did the whole matter of a Laughlin Get-together get dropped for this year? I was unable to make it last year and hoped I could do it this year. Not hearing any more about it, I had to guess it wasn't going to happen.

Most similar to 1932 Studebaker, but possibly 1933. At my age my memory is not that great. But I don't think it's Hudson

Yes indeed! And when I bought my 53 Caribbean in 1957,at the bright young age of 21, the salesman told me it had the Patrician engine with the nine main bearings. I believed that all the time I owned the car. But it wouldn't have made any difference, I would have bought it anyway.

Also, Looks very much like senior bumpers, both front and rear. Would like to have seen more pix from different angles. Essentially appears to be an " Executive " a couple years early

That makes sense to me now. As I was told that the original owner purchased it in Lakeland, Florida In 1954 as a new carry-over model. I purchased the car in January of 1957, when it was traded in on a carry-over 1956 Cadillac ElDorado
convertible.

I have had this discussion before, as the '53 Caribbean I purchased in 1957 had the chrome scripts attached to the front fenders in the same location as the '54s. I always believed they were supposed to be there, but there were not a lot of Caribbeans around to compare with. Could you tell
me the serial number of the car you are inquiring about?
Mine was 2678-2540 Gulf Green Metallic
