From an line in Field of Dreams goes something like this......"Is this heaven, no it's Iowa." But in this particular case,

Is this heaven .......no it's Route 66!

Very cool pictures. I think that Crosley will fit into my Packard's trunk for transport to my garage.

Wow, there are some awesome cars in that place. Well, maybe not awesome, but certainly interesting and full of potential. I am especially intrigued by the 48-50 Packard fastback and the Studebaker in the last photo. I tried to read the license plate on the first Packard but was unable to determine the state. The body looks really sound.

Is the car on the right in the second photo a Renault Dauphin? The Rambler Ambassador wagon looks like its got most of its chrome, which I imagine might be hard to find.

Finally, I tried to read the name on the side of the hood of the car parked next to the Studebaker; but even after I moved up the view to 400% and focused in on it, I still couldn't determine what it is. Nice looking though.

Thank you for sharing.

Craig

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

The car next to the Studebaker is a 1941 Nash. I covet it.

The Packard in the first pic had a 72 new Mexico license plate.

The car next to the studebaker is a nash indeed.

The in the 2nd pic is a crossly I think.

I personally like the yellow Reo.

The black Packard is a 2182

I agree with you. REO's were very fine cars and that one has potential. I also like the Nash, but then again, who doesn't? Sorry I got the Crosley wrong, but the front end did look a bit like a Renault.

A question ... was this junk yard in Albuquerque, NM? My Clipper was purchased in 1982 from an Albuquerque junk yard originally for use as a parts car; but after the gentleman in Minnesota received the car, the New Mexiso Clipper was the one that was restored and his other Clipper was used for parts. My car was originally purchased in Albuquerque.

This was 50 miles west of Abq.
The guy called it his museum and he said that most of it wasn't for sale.

Yes its drier than a popcorn fart out here so nothing rots. Look at all those 80-90 year old Ford s in the pics.
