Fuel tank pretty much done just need to prep an paint. Started on steering wheel and column. Going to use the original wheel just making it smaller diameter and change for new shaft an updated horn. Making a new column with newer shaft and signal switch and some of the Packard features.

The centre chrome is not tighten down but you can see the notch in the chrome for the weather strip. Steele's weather strip is far to bulky on the outside. Would be nice to know if anyone has used any other manufacturers weather strip.

The chrome skids over the windshield pinch weld the the weather strip goes over the chrome. Your car has a lot more stainless showing. The slit close to centre post is where the rubber is cut to make the weather strip smaller for the chopped top still have to shorten it more before bonding. It seems that the Steele weather strip raps around the outer edge more than the original. Thanks for the photos.

We bought Steele weather strip for the 42 clipper windshield. Not sure about the fit it's almost as if the weather strip comes out around the chrome to far. There is a notch on centre chrome bar and not much stainless around the windshield showing. See photos

Hate to break the news to you old guys but what do think your Packards are going to be worth when your all gone. People under 40 don't even know what a Packard is or even care. It's not only Packards it's all old cars. And as far as it easy to chop up a car it takes more time and money and know how. Anybody can restore a car nothing has change it's just all shiny and new again.

Just a progress report. Received chrome from chrome shop not completely happy. Have to make couple new pieces and find a new center grille. Got the body on the frame. Made one trim panel for inside trunk area.
