With a 148" wheelbase it has to be at least a 160. The upper "stainless" strip on the beltline is probably paint. I've never seen anything like it and assume it's a customization. The tail lights are an open question. The 1935-41 parts manual is no help nor is the 1942-1947 Clipper specific manual. Maybe he sold the senior lights to make a house payment. All the pertinent 1942 rear-end photos I can find (very few) show senior style rear tail lights (but they are all 180's).

I wonder what the wheelbase is. It looks really small, kinda like a Nash Metropolitan. I like it.

I looked at the spring arrangement on my 23rd series and it's just the same as that shown by HH56 in his photos.

I had that sticker on my Triumph Spitfire. I bought it new and the first day a tail light fell off. During the years I owned it nuts and bolts constantly rained down from under the dash. The final insult was when the left front wire wheel came off the car as I was getting on the on-ramp of the Ventura Freeway. The wheel sailed across to the off-ramp and slammed into the side of a California Highway Patrol car stopped at a traffic light. I promptly sold the miserable thing.

BigKev did a 12volt conversion on his '54 using a GM coded harness. Information on what he did starts around here. The information on his restoration project is extensive and useful.

The parade through Downtown Los Angeles took place on September 21, 1927, four months to the day after Col. Lindbergh flew solo non-stop from Roosevelt Field to Paris aboard the "Spirit of St. Louis".^

I'm guessing your memory may be little fuzzy. How about your neighbor had a 1953 Kaiser Dragon? The dashboard, upholstery and roof vinyl were certainly unique. Yes, it looked like straw or wicker.
