Looked on parts X-reference and did not see. Need oil pressure sender for 1956 V8 for idiot light guage, not the analog guage. Anyone know part number that works?

Craig,
FWIW if seeing V8 Packards at car shows other than ALL Packard events then I would say there is no large demand out there. I personally have one and plan installation this winter. I hav viewed pictures fron hundreds of car shows on the internet, east cost to west coast, and saw less than 5 V8 Packards. I have collected photos of 22 different cars so far, other than Packard, with 56-57 Clipper tail lights so I guess you can say Packard was represented. Boy did they look good. Well that's my 2 cents worth. As Willie would say " On The Road Again".

Eric,
First welcome to the site. Please take time to enter your new find into the "Owner Registry" on this site. Back to your brakes, I bought my first Packard last year, a 1956, and started out with a brake problem which was hard brake pedal with little stopping power. I replaced everything from hard and soft lines, wheel cylinders and shoes but had no improvements until I had the booster system rebuilt by a guy in Florida, Ed Strain. He is listed in Hemmings Motor News. Now it is a real joy driving my new Packard knowing it will stop.

What I need to work with vendor is similarities between 53 to 55 spindles to make upgrade kit available for later Packards without getting too technical. He already has kit that fits 1953 and I want to upgrade my 56. Thanks to all for your input in this. Vendor stated dramatic improvement in braking even with TV unit being retained.

Does anyone have any measurements or specs on spindles from 1953 to 1956 cars for comparison and what bearing numbers apply. I have located a vendor that has a disc brake upgrade available on a 1953 Packard and he believes it will interchange up to the 56. I know the seniors & juniors use different wheel bolt patterns and this isn't a problem.

In which thread did you find the correct paint?
