Re: 41 throttle control linkage
Home away from home
Home away from home

Jim Kavanagh
PackarDan;
I have a '41 120 that apparently has this option. If you can tell me about where to look for the linkage, I will snap a shot tonight. I don't know if it would be the same since we have different models, but it might help (assuming mine is hooked up.)

41 120 Horn Button Diagram
Home away from home
Home away from home

Jim Kavanagh
I recently bought my 41 120 and about the only thing not working on it is the horn. My repair manual does not have a diagram of the steering wheel side of the steering column, but I have removed a lot of steering wheels.
This one was easy, and pretty clean design. Just a center wire to provide current, a horn ring attached to the button, and a giant spring to keep the critical components apart. Given the design of the center wire and the other parts, I do not see how the contact is actually made. I am trying to figure out if I am missing a spring or spacer somewhere.
I have a couple questions:
With the unit apart, how do I test the horn? Should be easy.
Does anyone have a picture, repair manual description or exploded diagram of the area so I can see if I am missing anything?
I appreciate the help.
BTW - How do you upload pictures of your baby to the site? Other than the one I uploaded to the registry, I don't see how it is done.
Thanks!

Hand Throttle
Home away from home
Home away from home

Jim Kavanagh
I just bought a 41 120 Touring and I really love the car. Better yet, so does my wife. I have purchased the reprint owners manual as well as the shop manual (which I find a little skimpy on clear step by step directions), but since I really don't need to fix anything, not a problem.

On my dash is a small knob noted as "hand throttle" in the owner's manual. I though originally it was a choke, but it is not. It is something electric as I hear something move when I engage it. I have no idea what it is.

You are probably all laughing, but neither the Owner's manual nor the repair manual really say what the knob does. Can anyone please let me know? It is in the row of knobs left of the steering wheel.

Thanks much!
