I have a 55-56 power steering rack with inner tie rods and the pump and brackets(pump needs a pulley).... As far as outfitting it on your 56 I would have to do some research

I agree about checking the vacuum advance as well as the power valve. A general tune up and carb adjustment never hurts.

If you want to pay for shipping I can sterilize your pieces and ship them back to you in sealed medical bags. I own a tattoo shop and have a $5,000 autoclave that does everything short of producing Packard parts. Lemme know.

I too am certain this is a '38. I think Don will agree. However, the title does say 1937. I will tell you from personal experience that while getting a title for 55 400 the lady at DMV said her computer showed the vin numbers as a 56 and it would be titled as so. Cut and dried. The car she titled is a 55. Certain. Could be the same situation here. The interior is great on this car, runs and drives, at last I heard that the fuel tank needed a douching and that was about it. The tires seemed to be in good shape. It is just a really clean car.

Found this at a friends shop. Wants $15,000. Runs and drives. Have more pics if interested.

Hope I didn't offend anybody. This is the friendliest site I have ever been associated with. I have received more knowledge here than anywhere. I did not mean I have seen an aversion to mods on this site necessarily. More as a general statement. Some people have really freaked out on me. None of you guys. I appreciate all the input and see everybody's point of view, which i respect. Happy Packarding!

I have seen a real aversion to modifying Packards. It generates interest in Packards amongst different crowds and not every packard owner has the funds to restore them to factory specs or even wants too. The mind is like a parachute, it only functions when open. And remember... Nobody lives forever, your old Packard might soon be my resto-mod. Chin up guys, Packards still drop panties, even if they're modified.

What I noticed is that if I were to add an upper adjustable bump stop it would lower the car as well as put a little pre load on the torsion bars, which i think would add a little more rigidness to the overall ride, which is great when you throw the thing around corners at 90mph!

Is there supposed to be an upper bump stop on 55 Clipper with TL? The non TL system shows one, the TL system does not, it does have a mounting spot for it however. Lowering this might have just got easier
