Where does the 41 120 parts car come into play - ie what pieces would I need from such ? Car is a 180 Lebaron Sports Brougham (short coupled w/out divider). Car is fully restored and new cylinders are laying in the trunk (but, a lot of nice paint, runningboards, carpet, and upholstery could get ruined if a problem - and that is why I have electrics on the brain (windows need not go down all the way - it would be nice but not really needed). If I were to have done work I would have converted to manual, but now dealing with newly upholstered door panels and also a dash w/switches in center top (and a high point car). JMM

I agree with all the caution statements - they do kill and mame. To remove lock ring take out the tube valve core so no air exists in tube. I find it super helpful to build a few inch wooden platform under the hub so the tire can droop past the rim (if you lay the tire flat on the floor it still puts pressure on the ring - making ring removal difficult). Never beat on a rim (if it looks over expanded upon reinstlation - do not worky it will close upon careful and incredibly risky inflation (IN A CAGE AT A TIRE STORE - remember Kill and Mame upon inflation). Remember - to lightly talc the tube, flap, and tire to prevent any sticking of tube to other pieces. Also, remove all stickers from tube, inside of tire, and flap (stickers and tubes do not go together - ie danger when driving). Finally, inflate then deflate and then inflate again (to prevent any wrinkles in tube.

Now that some time has passed since the last posting. Are there any good solutions to converting 1941 hydraulic windows to electric (and still maintaining the 6 volt positive ground system)?

Pictures are posted on AACA forumn under restoration projects - see 1932 packard Twin Six.

Car is doing super well and we are most pleased with it down at the Museum. We finished a valve job in the summer and it now sports an NOS banjo to replace the badly deteriorated banjo wheeel. We showed car at Dayton concours and it attacted quite a crowd. New exhaust came a couple weeks ago and it will get that, a new pinion seal, and several new front end pieces.

I need a set of front bumper guards donated as well as a foot rail and hassoks, and finally I need a clock donated for the rear seat.

FYI - Lily ponds bought Packards like most people drink water.

Hello,

Robert Bosch Corp. is seeking a picture of the 1925 packard limousine that Jessie Cummins installed his diesel in and set a record as first diesel installed in an automobile Chistmas day 1929 ;and went on se record by doing trip on Januay 06, 1930 from Indiana to New York. (picture from the January 06 day or therabout would be most appreciated).

Thanks,

JMM

Hello,

Who if anyone makes a trunk lining kit for a 55 400 (I am sure 56 is the same) or has the rough upholstery stock for such ? It is a roughly described as a grey and black houndstooth with fabric on the floor and fender wells and cardboard on the side panels.

Thanks,

JMM
