That Patrician I am surprised is still for sale.

I suspect that it is either unpopular car/location, or it has rust issues.

Here is another one in the area:https://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/d/huntsville-1955-packard/7563655350.html

The ad even says "no rust", despite the fact that you can see it on the illustrations. I guess people have widely different meaning\standards describing a car's condition.

That would not be my first guess. The original one probably stopped working, so they replaced it with an available alternative.
If you want to rewind the odometer, you take it out and re-arrange the rolls in the desired order

North Florida will be extra cold, this night... Just in time, the furnace stopped working in the morning
~3 hours later, I was able to determine that the gas valve electric switch is faulty. Temporarily jumped the pins in the "on" position, until the replacement arrives.

This is an older-style radio.

Is that a new thing to use chrome-plated cap nuts? No way this is original :)

All these being new and adjusted correctly will go a long way toward keeping it running at idle.

True. Unless, of course, the fuel mixture and throttle position screws are off, on the carb

Very interesting, did not know that.
It sounds like Ryan's car is simply trying to stall, though, so I would not be concerned about the oil pressure, for now.

That sounds like your engine is simply trying to stall at the light, hence, the oil light comes up.
Is it also doing this when cold? Or only after you drive it for a while?
I would first make sure that your hot idle speed is adjusted to specs, and that the engine is not overheating.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you very much for the swift response. Based on your description, the car appears to be in great condition. I've sent you a PM, so that we do not clutter this main thread

Hi Andrew,

I am interested. Saw it on FB, then went ahead to research about the TL suspension, found this forum, and here it is :)

Do you have more pictures? I am specifically interested in the under-body and all the corrosion-prone spots.
Do you know how much body work was done to in when it was re-painted? Does the TLS work?

Moreover, I assume that you did not get a chance to either upgrade the brakes, or repair the transmission issues, as you planned, correct?

Thanks.
