OK, I'll check that when I get it on the lift.
Thank you!

Owen,
Thank you. I have an owner's manual, but did not think about looking in it! I will check it out.

I have a '41 Packard 120. Can this be adjusted without removing the steering box? The car has 47K on it and steering play is about 6".
All help appreciated.

Excellent information, you guys. This has been a sleeping subject for a long time. About 2 months ago, my friend, Rodney Hobbs, and I started talking and investigating this subject. We are familiar with the article in Robert Neal's book, which is excellent. Also note, there is a picture of a 23rd Series LWB Limo in a showroom shown in the book. This is a great subject to discuss.

There are several 22nd Series '49 models that survive. I have yet to see a 23rd Series '49 model.

There were only one or two 23rd series Limousines built and none known left to survive that I know of. It has to be a 22nd series, 1949 model.

This is a no-brainer, but remember that last number is tenth's of a mile.

That's the one! That is what it shows in my parts book, too. It did not tell me that it is centrifugal advance only. I found it odd that it would be different than my 2 1941 120's, as they have the vacuum advances in the top of the distributor, and the lever moves the breaker plate. They must have made a change that year.

My dad always said "If you are not real careful, you'll learn something new every day".

Thanks for all the help!!

It sure could be. I'll have to investigate that.
Thanks

This distributor I just acquired has centrifugal ONLY. There is no place for a vacuum advance setup. According to my 35-41 parts book, it fits the 1940 120.
Thanks for the info.
