"Any pictures of what that looks like under the hood?"
I had taken some to upload to this website shortly before my previous desktop computer went south on me. Lost 'em but will, probably tomorrow, attempt taking some more and post. I am slightly "photography challenged" so don't expect too much.

Interesting thief-proof from the 1952 200 Deluxe. Clearly it's a 52 from the VN, but the thief-proof suggests the basic body was built during the 1951 production run. Such irregularities seem rare (based on the data we have) but not unheard of. Do we know if the car was built for export?

Not sure if that would be in Packard historical information, or later in the Briggs historical information.
Kev - the use of the triangles predates any involvement by Briggs by more than a decade, right back to when Packard began using thief-proof numbers in 1929. The exceptions are the first three years of the juniors. Some panels on these cars were stamped by Budd which have some bearing on this. I'll do a bit of speculating on the trianges in my upcoming article. The only known cars without triangles are some 1940 cars, and I suspect this may have had something to do with the transfer of body panel stamping equipment to Briggs for 1941 production.

What a great find! There is actually a very strong Packard following here in central Arizona. The web address ishttp://www.packardsofaz.org/Packards/index.html it is the Packards of Arizona club, a regional Packards International club. I would also recommend joining Packards Internationalhttp://www.packardsinternational.com/
PI has a membership meet in February with what some would say is the largest all Packard swap meet in the western United States. I have gone the last 3 years, and the founder of this site, and many others here go as well. The people I met there and parts obtained there have been the biggest help in the progress on my car. Glad to have another Packard enthusiast here in town. Welcome to the site, and I hope to meet you sometime around town. Best of luck, Jim
