In TPC #136 are several articles that were written especially for that issue, and were never before published -- also MANY photos and drawings from the original designers that were never before published. Do your "many different sources" have =those= photos and drawings? Nope.

I guess you don't care to see just what the never-built '57s were to look like. Shame.

JS - If Nance knew in early 1955 that Packard was finished, then he, and the entire styling and engineering divisions, would not have spent all that time during 1955-56, and all the money, preparing the all-new 1957s.

You -did- read issue #136 of the Packard Cormorant, didn't you? If not, I'd buy one of the back issues now that you are a NEW member of PAC. Welcome aboard!

BTW, it's "ad agency", not "add agency".

"As for SP planning the 57 Packards thru out 55 and 56 then how difficult could that have been???? After all the 57 Packards were actualy rebadged Studebakers????"

I was talking about the ALL-NEW 1957 shared-body Packard / Clipper / Studebaker cars, which the Predictor was based upon. Once the money ran out in early-1956 and the Detroit factories and offices were shut down, then the stop-gap 1957 Packard Clipper was planned in South Bend during the summer/fall of 1956. Read issue #136 of the Packard Cormorant.

No way that "S-P knew Packard was dead in '55." Read James A. Ward's "The Fall of the Packard Motor Car Company" (1995). On January 15, 1956 Packard made a request to the insurance companies for money to finance the all-new 1957 models. On January 27, James Nance was informed that the request had been turned down. THIS is what killed Packard.

And, if "S-P knew Packard was dead in '55", why did S-P plan the all-new 1957s all the way thru 1955 and 1956? Read The Packard Cormorant magazine #125 and #136.

As to PAC holding the national meets in the east, if any Western Regions would like to host a national meet, please contact the PAC Board. You need about 15-20 people working hard for two years in advance to pull one of these events off.

I believe that this is a NEWLY BUILT body, not a restoration of the original car.

That's a 1938 Super Eight; the photo was taken at the Proving Grounds. There are other photos around showing the side of the car, with about one hundred sand bags on the roof, and Charlie Vincent behind the wheel.

The last 1954 Senior, a Patrician, is pictured on page 574. But, the last car built at EGB is pictured on the next page, and is a Clipper. How do I know? The workers are ripping out the conveyor line behind it.

This picture was also published in the Packard Cormorant's "Factory Issue" a few months ago.

Roger Bremer's article was published in the Autumn 1998 issue (#92) of the Packard Cormorant.
