120 vent lever, picture?

I have a pretty good vent lever knob, still on the lever. I am thinking of having them reproduced. Does anyone have a picture of the lever without the knob? I am trying to see what I am getting myself into while trying to remove the knob.

I survived my youth without learning a thing about radios, but my father was an EE and spent a lot of time playing with old radios. I do recall that about 75% were fixed by spraying a little cleaner on the tuner. On a table top, the "tuner" would look something like an old potato slicer.

I have never tried it on a Packard. GM, and I believe Ford, have a slot in the lock on the rear. If the trunk key were long enough, it would extend through the slot in the rear of the lock.

From the illustrations in this post, I would combine several very long extensions and try for the bolts on the lower latch.

One item getting a bit tight but still around is the ball and trunnion front U-joint for the junior Ultramatic-equipped cars (front joint for the senior is nearly unobtainium).

Mopar used a ball and trunion up to '64, or 5. Has anyone tried looking into any interchange, even with machining?

In my old car wanderings, I have found that u-joints are "by size", aside from being varied among the various makes. I wonder if a knowledgable auto store couldn't measure things up and match them.

I thought Faust's suggestion was the most creative, especially if you have a 'junk yard kid' around who is small enough to crawl from the back seat through the x brace bracket. Dipsticks and very useful. Ever as lo-o-o-ong screwdriver might work.

Not being one to "horde information", if you find that the crankcase dipstick isn't long enough and the car is an automatic, use the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Usually longer.

Faust a/k/a "the junkyard kid"
Now that my kid is too old for me to sell her teeth to the "tooth fairy", I break into junkyards on Sundays and go through the seats looking for change.

Just so you know you are not the only one, the last time I looked, Fatman Fabrications offered a Mustang II front suspenison for the 120.

Below are clickable pictures of the defroster vents and one of the defroster hoses, removed from a '38 "Junior". The vents are much smaller than the 7" described in the eBay ad. They are 4 - 4.25". The heater hose is probably 1.5", although stretched to almost 2".

Does anyone have the chrome strip that runs down the center of the '38, '39 "DeLuxe" heater? I am missing that.

I have an NOS knob/switch so I'm all set. I have the defroster unit that bolts on the heater, but need the vents that attach under the dash below the window. Ducting should be easy enough to track down.

Pics would be excellent. Thanks !

Ducting is with the old cloth and spring frame hose.

I think those vents on eBay are a little larger than the ones I removed from the '38. The design is similar. That is from memory, and I may be incorrect. I will post a picture of mine with a ruler, later this evening.

Sorry that NAPA couldn't help. I think well of them. Their re-building is done somewhere in Pennsylvania. The last one they did for me was the master from my '64 Plymouth convertible.
