can we quantify "mid-year"? I have to assume that mine is after a mid-year break; delivered in November. 5567-7414. I'm hundreds of miles away at the moment, so can't peek at her chassis.

My new acquisition meets the kids. The wife however is insisting on no more rides until seatbelts are installed. I don't love the free one in the background any less, but running and driving is super nice. The car itself is a survivor in remarkable shape, (to my novice mind), temp guage and clock inop, but that really is about it. The carb is poorly setup, running quite rich which makes it stumble on take off unless I am VERY gentle. Brakes work well, but man are they stiff to start. I don't imagine that that is normal, but they do work well once engaged. Now the focus shifts to the honey do list - and then resumption on the '28!!

I bet that not many take their old Packards out in the rain, but hey, it needed cleaning anyway.

Just found what appears to be a really good deal on another Constellation that I will be looking at tomorrow. Anything that I should look out for in particular? I have to strike while the wife's iron is hot! Price is less than it would take to put my '55 in a similar condition.

You are correct, the advisor has not seen the car in person, (but he has many helpful, accurate posts here) I just described the problem, he told me to check the torsion bars, if broken or missing - find another. They appear fine, but I am not really familiar with them.

I was mostly just chuckling at my wifes reaction. Money here and most places is tight, but she knows my passion and would never stand in the way of something that I thought that I "should" get.

In talking with a well known '55-'56 guy (....from Maryland....,), I was given the very scary news that my Clipper might be economically terminal (My '28 526 certainly is, but as a family car, that doesn't matter to me.) This diagnosis is still not fully determined - Left rear suspension held up by a 4x4, (I don't think that is factory). Anyway, upon hearing this news, and my dispair, my lovely bride of 15 years simply states, and I carefully quote, "Then get another one"....., I am very impulsive and as such prone to foolishness, but is this an invitation or a trick?

If money were not very much an object, I would immediately begin the search. Okay, that I did, but without the easy means, actually following through would take major hoops. The good news, I suppose is that I desire, a low desirability -Constellation.

A friend of mine has loaned me his blasting cabinet, but the gun is awful. It works for 5-10 seconds, and then stops and I end up shaking it or beating it on the part to get more sand out. Any recommendations out there for a replacement?? Is a siphon type the only way to go? does anyone make a reasonable pressure feed type? I figured a blast cabinet would solve all of my problems, sadly it has not been the case......,

OK, not overtly Packard related, except of course, I am about to reunited with them, so the work will resume. But, I am within 48 hours of heading back to the USA! Work won't resume in earnest for another month, but I will at least be able to see them soon!!
