50- wanted older packard 20's - 30's, but had to settle for 51 as was in my price range at time.am loving learning this car as have been ford ,chevy and dodge man

tried pumping 1-8 times trying to start between each pump and no luck unless i fully choke carb by putting hand over throat of carb

51 is running good, drives nice and smooth, but when i get it up to operating temperature and kill the engine , it will not start up again until it cools down unless i put hand over carburetor to full choke it , then it starts right up. any ideas on what this problem could be?

ok, thanks. the guy i got the car from must have changed it out. many thanks for the patience yyou show us new packard owners. is there any one that sells rebuild kits for the vacuum wiper motor for the 51 200?

my kid swears it is a 327, and i want to know if this is so and if it is engine that came in the car. sent kid out to get number off head and it is: j403816

the number stamped into the drivers side rear of the head starts with a j. will go out tomorrow and get the rest of the numbers

does the 51 200 deluxe have inner fenders ? mine doesn't have anything around the tires to prevent mud buildup on the inside of the fenders as most cars have.
