Yes, it is a Franay and it is on a 1502 chassis.

It is interesting to note that it appears to have 1936 spoke wheels

I have never heard of anyone modifying a frame to fit a body.

I think you would be biting off a humongous project.

I would seriously doubt that the rear fenders would interchange, but look into the Parts book.

Yes, the front fenders and hood of all 1937 Super Eights are the same.

I have been communicating with the museum that has this car, and am awaiting details.
Will post info when I hear from my contact.

I fully understand the privacy aspect.
I have been the Roster-Keeper of the 1937 Super Eight and Twelve for some 42 years.
I have data on 10 of the probable 39 that were made.
I also have names of 8 other possible owners (or previous owners).
I would be most appreciative if you would ask the owner to contact me, Bob Supina at <1937lebaron@gmail.com>

For 43 years I have shared the database ONLY with one of the Senior members of PAC and CCCA who tracks existing Packards.

Respectfully,

Bob Supina

While I am unable to help in identifying the car pictured, I can affirm that the first car is either '35 or '36 by the front bumper vibration dampers and the front opening front door.
Stalin also had a '37 Twelve limousine, which has been on ebay a couple of times....not sure where it is right now, but its serial number is 1035-447. It was armor plated.
Am not at liberty to divulge the last known owner online, but if appropriate individuals contact me, I will tell what I know.
Send request to <1937lebaron@gmail.com>

If you have the body tag, here is the id info..
1032..formal sedan
1033..5 passenger sedan
1036..club sedan
1037..5 pass coupe
1038..2/4 coupe
1039..conv coupe.

I am the Roster Keeper for the '37 Seniors and would appreciate knowing what is on the tag and also the engine number

Thanks
Bob

First test....
If it is 5 lug wheels and wheelbase is 127"...it is a Super Eight 1003...small 5 pass sedan.

If it is 6 lug wheels and wheelbase is 134"...it is a Twelve 1023....small 5 pass sedan...(same body as 1003 but typical Twelve upholstery.

Keep Smiling...

Re: 1934-37 cormorant ornament

Bob Supina
Hi Sandy,
1937 and 1938 Senior Accessory catalogs very clearly describe the ornament as a PELICAN.

I have seen some reproductions made in one piece with no detachable wings.

Original items have detachable wings...held in place by a screw that is 'up the butt'.

Keep Smiling...

Bob

Want info on 1920s 'Black Maria' pronounced Ma-rye-ah

Bob Supina
A few years ago I saw an article on a 1920s Packard Truck that was loaded with electronic gear, painted black, and called the 'Black Maria' (pronounced Ma-rye-ah).

To be honest, I am having a 'Senior Moment' and cannot recall if I saw the story in a Packard magazine, or in a Amateur Radio magazine.

Hopefully, a viewer out there will know about the Packard and point to a source of the article....

Keep Smiling...

Good Morning from Texas...
Vic, I am the PAC Roster Keeper for the 326 series.
<P>
I would certainly appreciate the following information.
<P>
Serial number from data plate (Inside firewall above steering column)............
<P>
engine #..........
<P>
frame number (stamped on from near steering box)
<P>
If you have a sedan, there should be a plate on the floor under the carpet,near right rear door. This would have the body style number and production.
<P>
There might also be a number stamped into the wood.
<P>
P.S. attached is a pic of my 'twin-sixes'....actually one is an early 326 sedan and the other is a late 326 sedan.
