Around here, we would say that car must have sat in a cow pasture for quite a while. Cows can really dent up and push in the panels on a car. I've never seen one on TOP of a car though......goats yes, but not cows.

Thanks for the info Jason, never thought of using something like this to keep a polished surface from rusting.

I've been using DuraGloss products for years. They are located less than an hour away from me in Burlington NC. I especially like their car wash which leaves a very nice shine, and also their upholstery cleaner.

HH56,thanks for the info on SharkHide. I haven't used it, but might try it out.

Nice job on the trunk lid weatherstrip!

The courtesy light really shined up nice. How will you protect it from rusting?

No, don't need a pic of the ID plate, but thanks for the offer.

Do you have interior pics?

Really nice looking car. Is it originally a NC car?

Thanks for posting!

Interesting videos. But he sure does make me feel old - not understanding a point ignition system or a 6v positive ground electrical system.

Did notice he is from North Carolina, wonder what part?

Thanks everyone for the info, and thanks Mal for the ebay links. I'll have to keep an eye on them to see if they sell.

Thanks everyone for the info!

Mal, what would be a reasonable price for this ornament? I don't expect to have a '48-'50 Packard (but hope to have a '54 thru '56 ), so this might as well get into the hands of someone who can use it.

Packard (?) Hood Ornament ID Help Needed

Hi folks, hope I'm putting this in the correct area. If not, hopefully BigKev/moderators will move it to the correct area.

Received this hood ornament in with some Studebaker parts. The guy I got these parts from said the hood ornament was from a Packard. I sure don't know, so decided to go to the experts.

The length is approximately 17-1/2", and the number cast into the bottom is 407593 7811.

Does anyone recognize this as Packard, and if so, what year(s) and model(s)?

And, if not Packard, does anyone recognize what it may have come from?

Thanks very much for any assistance!

Hi Mike,

Looking forward to this blog, since I love the '55 Clippers. That looks like a really solid car.

If you get a chance, post some more pics of the car.
