i saw the clip. i put a handle back on that was already off on a door that had no door panel. this allowed me to see the function of the clip. so i used a really thin screw driver to push the clip up while i pull out and it pop right off. painful way to do it, but it worked.
![]() now the entire interior is out. i only have left the head liner. my wife vacuumed while i striped out stuff and carefully put it together with it corresponding fasteners/screws. i love this interior....so easy to see how it comes out. not like today were all the screws/fasteners are hidden and can break easily. also not plastic to break....which is great! my wife is quite the little worker bee and i want her to know i appreciate all her hard work last night. she is my best friend ![]() i will upload some pics today. Later, Hank

just took out all of the interior, but i can't get one of the door panels off. the driver's side door panel was already off, but i can't get off the passenger's side because i can't figure out how to take off the door handle and window crank. i know that there is a clip holding these on, but i can't reach the clip on the back side of the handles.
the back seat top was a pain to get out. i think i killed about 15 common spiders while i was in there and a family of roaches too. exciting!! ![]() the floor is in great shap on this car, most of the undercoating is still there, but from banging around on it it seems solid. the only problem is that little plate that covers the whole on the drivers side floor board. i also hooked up my battery to my truck to it and the lights turned on, but it wouldn't crank over. it did nothing. then i started to smell some burning, so i took it of the battery quickly and made sure to watch for a fire. that would have sucked!! next i will vacuum out the inside and try to get the rest of the interior out. i will post pictures soon. Hank

i am thinking positive too. there is a strap that is connected to the block that would be on the batteries side that is facing the front of the car. the wire going to the starter is on the pole of the battery that is towards the back of the car, and it is has a black coating.
the coil is facing rearwards and the wire comming out of it is comming out towards the fire wall and goes into the distributer. would this be positive ground?

how do i tell what way my car is. + or - ground? there was no battery. i see on the internet that it should be a + ground. but the previous owners says it was neg ground. there is no battery in the car for me to check this.

thanks for the help. i plan to get under there to see if wiggling the drive shaft a bit while my wife tries to more the level might help. just incase it is stuck in park by the parking arm in the trans. i will also look at the linkage, might need to be lubed a bit.
so, what you are saying is the linkage can align itself in a straight line causing the bind because the the joints are locked like an elbow.

got the car home yesterday. saturday was a waste of time. the winch was worthless with flat tires and i could afford and more for a winch. so i had to get used tires put on the rims, with didn't bead right, but would hold air long enough to move the car onto my friends flat bed car hauler instead of my trailer. we go it home just fine and it came of with just two of use pushing and went right into the garage.
she is all original, except the front seat bottom cloth was redone in the wrong material. the block has the correct number on it, but he thinks the trans. is different. found out the drive shaft was disconnected, which was good. it even had a polyglass tire on a rim in the trunk ![]() me and my wife are excited!! ![]() the motor had full oil and it was golden and didn't seem to have any water in it. the breather assemble still had a filter in it with an oil bath filled. the spark plugs were loose in their sockets already, which was smart on the previous owners part. keep the water out, but they didn't freeze either. the motor turns over by pushing on the fan. i just gotta figure out why the trans. wont move into different grears. the lever is stuck on the steering column. anyways...i hope everyone enjoyed my little adventure. i think the only one that didn't was my muscles. ![]() Hank

update on getting the car home....uh it didn't happen today basically. i got the car half way on the trailer and the back end was dragging. the passengers side rear suspension is sagging and the tires were not holding air. so i had to take off the tires that weren't holding air and take them to get them changed. course the guy didn't get the tires beaded right, but the leak very slowly, so the should hold until i get the car on the trailer if i just keep the air comming. they hold decent, but i plan to take them back to make sure the get them on right once i get the car in my garage.
i couldn't get the transmission to change gears, but i noticed while changing the tire that the drive shaft had been unbolt from the rear end. i thought i was dragging the car, but it must have been the flats keeping the wheels from moving. so, luckly someone else took the driveshaft off for me, i thought i was going to have to do that. i will give it another go tomorrow, since it gets dark at about 3pm now.......j/k.....but that sucks...i wish it would stay light longer. anyways, i will update more tomorrow. Hank
