I'll be there at least from Monday through Thurs. Looking forward to meeting some Packard Info people. Two Clipper pajamas at Greenfield Village show last weekend.

Lonny and our Canadian friend: I used :

Joe Hudacek

for heater control valve redo. He was reasonable (I don't remember the cost) and very fast turn around. It works great.
When I called him on the phone, he knew actually what my valve looked like without describing it. I have a 23 series Deluxe Eight. I used him in Sept. of 2008.

J.R.: I have the same interior as you. Which supplier did you get the material from?

Also, I had the springs in the front bottom cushion replaced last year. At made a world of difference in comfort level. There are two rows across with 13springs in each row. The original springs were each wrapped in burlap, but they were not tied together, very loose.
The lady that replaced them custom ordered the springs from a supplier . She charged me $350 but I only had to leave her the button cushion over last winter. It made a big improvement in the ride.

I'm planning on being there and driving my Packard. It's worth the trip all the way out there just to hear the Johnny Trudell Orchestra perform in person! Listen to the music, walk the grounds, look at the Packards, you can't ask for a better afternoon.

I got the grease cap from NAPA today (part #730-2409) and it fits perfect. I took it out for a spin tonight through town and it stayed nice and tight. Checked it twice. The best part: cost of the cap was $1.99! Thanks again for all of your help and advise.

Thanks for all of the great replies. I ordered the NAPA part and it will be in tomorrow. I'll test it out and let you know.

Grease Cap

The grease cap on my car keeps comming off. I hear it rattle and then it ends up getting stuck inside the wheel cover. It seems tight when I put it back on, but it comes loose in a couple of miles. I have 3 ideas:
1. Buy a replacement from the usual suspects, but $25 seems like a lot of money.

2. Can I find a replacement from NAPA or other local auto parts store?

3. A Packard friend suggested that I cut across the diameter, making 2 slits in the outer rim. Then slightly bend the cuts outward to make it fit tighter.

Any comments from the experts out in Packard Land?
